Jon’s recommendation

Lead with Paris. Keep Strasbourg close behind.

For two 15-year-old girls, Paris plus Disneyland Paris gives the strongest combination of Christmas atmosphere and things they will be excited to do from morning through evening. Strasbourg and Colmar are the better choice when the family’s priority is the most authentic, storybook market experience.

A sample 10-night rhythm

Enough wonder. Not too much rushing.

DEC 19–20Fly overnightDepart LAX and arrive in Europe.
DAYS 2–4First citySettle in, explore markets, and enjoy one signature experience.
DAYS 5–6Christmas pauseSpecial meal, slower sightseeing, and family time.
DAYS 7–9Second chapterTrain or transfer to the next destination.
DAYS 10–11Final memoriesOne last highlight, then return to Los Angeles.

Important timing note: many traditional European Christmas markets reduce hours or close after December 23–24. The final itinerary should be designed around confirmed 2026 operating dates, with major sightseeing, winter attractions, and holiday programming after Christmas Day.
